This Simple Lifestyle Pattern Can Prevent Diabetes!

Type 2 diabetes is a type of diabetes that can run in the family's genes. If a parent has type 2 diabetes, some of their children may also develop the inherited type 2 diabetes. However, even though type 2 diabetes can threaten your children or other descendants, such as grandchildren, if you teach them to take preventive action through proper diet and a healthy lifestyle, diabetes can be prevented.

The signs and symptoms of type 2 diabetes often develop slowly. In fact, a type 2 diabetes patient may not even realize they have type 2 diabetes. The most common symptoms are increased thirst, frequent urination, increased hunger, unwanted weight loss, fatigue, blurred vision, slow wound healing, and frequent infections. Because of this, type 2 diabetes can easily be overlooked by patients in its early stages, since the symptoms resemble normal habits. That's why you need to take preventive action against type 2 diabetes by doing the following:

1. Reduce low-fiber foods such as white bread, white rice, and processed cereals

Eat in controlled proportions and don't overeat. This will allow you to regulate your blood sugar levels. In addition, try incorporating fiber-rich foods into your diet. Eating broccoli, bean sprouts, carrots, asparagus, green beans, cauliflower, and even legumes are good ways to make sure your body gets enough fiber.

2. Reduce consumption of red meat and processed meat

Beef and lamb have been linked to heart problems and cancer. Try swapping red meat and processed meat for egg whites, fish, and poultry such as chicken. You can also eat various types of nuts, which are high in fiber and don't affect blood glucose levels too much, making them a good substitute for processed and red meat.

3. Choose healthier fats

We all need fat in our diet because fat gives us energy. Healthy fats are found in foods such as nuts, seeds, avocado, oily fish, olive oil, and so on. Saturated fat can raise the amount of cholesterol in your blood. However, it's best to reduce oil use in general and try cooking with other methods such as baking or steaming.

4. Cut down on added sugar

Cutting down on sugar can be very difficult at first. To make it easier to get used to, try swapping sweet drinks, energy drinks, and fruit juice for plain water, milk, and unsweetened tea and coffee.

5. Stay away from soda

Drink plain water regularly to stay hydrated and to improve control over your blood sugar. Avoid artificially sweetened drinks, soda, and even fruit juice.

6. Choose healthier carbohydrates

Make sure you follow a low-carbohydrate diet and choose only healthy carbohydrates, such as brown rice, whole wheat, buckwheat, and various other healthy carbohydrate foods you can find around you.
